Position Title:                       Outdoor Adventures Activity Leader
Location:                               Kerrisdale Annex/Malkin Park (3250 West 43rd Avenue, Vancouver)
 
Terms:                                   Permanent Full-Time 17.5 hours/week
Shift:                                      Monday to Friday; 2:30-6:00pm
Salary:                                    $17.46 per hour
Reports To:                           Team Leader, Outdoor Adventures

Nature & Scope: 
If you love the outdoors and want to work with kids we’re looking for you!  YMCA Activity Leaders enjoy facilitating activities for children ages 5 – 12 in a fun, fast paced environment.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate activities and build relationships
  • Have fun and role model positive behaviors
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ensure all children are supervised and safe at all time
  • Read, understand and follow all YMCA requirements and standards
  • Behave in a professional manner
Requirements: 
  • Experience working with children ages 5 – 12 years
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required
  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • 20 hours training related to child development an asset (courses related to child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition)
