Position Title:                       On-Call Kids Club Activity Leader 
Location:                               Various YMCA Kids Clubs – Locations in Vancouver, Richmond & UBC     
Terms:                                   Temporary Part-Time: Casual Employment 
Shift:                                      Shifts Vary:  Monday to Friday between 7:00/7:30-9:00am and 2:30pm -6:00pm

Salary:                                    $14.64-$15.66 per hour

Start Date:                            Flexible

Reports To:                           Manager, Healthy Child Development

Nature & Scope:  

If you want to work with kids we’re looking for you!  YMCA Activity Leaders enjoy facilitating activities for children ages 5 – 12 in a fun, fast paced environment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate activities and build relationships 
  • Have fun and role model positive behaviors
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ensure all children are supervised and safe at all time
  • Read, understand and follow all YMCA requirements and standards
  • Behave in a professional manner

Requirements:  

  • Experience working with children ages 5 – 12 years
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required
  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • 20 hours training related to child development an asset (courses related to child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition)
  • On-Call employees must be able to work at least one shift quarterly per year
