Position Title:                       Kids Club Additional Support Activity Leader
Location:                               Hastings YMCA Kids Club (2625 Franklin St, Vancouver, BC V5K 3W7)
 
Terms:                                   Permanent Part-Time: 25 Hours/week
 
Shift:                                      Monday to Friday: 7:30 – 9:00am & 2:30pm – 6:00pm
Salary:                                    $16.44 per hour + benefits
Reports To:                           Manager, Healthy Child Development

Nature & Scope: 
If you want to work with kids we’re looking for you!  YMCA Additional Support Activity Leaders are responsible for ensuring children with challenging behaviors or support needs have a position inclusive before and after school experience.

Major Responsibilities:
  • May be required to provide 1 on 1 support to children
  • Facilitate activities and build relationships
  • Have fun and role model positive behaviors
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ensure all children are supervised and safe at all time
  • Read, understand and follow all YMCA requirements and standards
  • Behave in a professional manner
 
Requirements: 
  • Experience working with children ages 5 – 12 years
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required
  • Must be 19 years of age
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • 20 hours training related to child development an asset (courses related to child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition
